A few years ago I rented a studio space in town. (Cascade, population 700) During the summer months kids were running everywhere, riding bikes up and down the street, playing in the park, etc. One day this particular boy came in with his little brother, saying he had heard I would pay money to anyone willing to model. They were so eager, but I was working on another project at the time, so reluctantly I agreed and quickly photographed them both. I paid each $5 and sent them on their way. Later when I developed my film, I saw what wonderful models they really were! This is a small painting of the older boy, Everett. The younger one is featured on the Paintings page of my website.
