Tuesday we had the farrier out to get some shoes on our guys. Now we are all set to move cows to summer pasture here in a few weeks. This reminded me that I hadn't painted a horse in a while, so here he is again, my best horse-friend Bailey (Bones) on a very windy day.
Lately I've been mixing things up a bit on my palette, with colors that I wouldn't ordinarily pull into the dominant hue. For this one I used cerulean blue and dioxazine purple and dragged it into the edges of the darker values to give the whole painting movement and make it sparkle.
