Things have finally settled down and I'm back in the studio after a busy week during C.M. Russell Week here in Great Falls, Montana. We had loads of fun and sold some art too. The Ad Club's "C.M. Russell Art Auction" didn't do as well as in previous years, with sales down by more than half and most agree it stems from the economic downturn and the Ad Club and C.M. Russell Museum parting ways.
The C.M. Russell Museum who conducted their own inaugural fundraising auction event "The Russell" this year had a fair amount of success as did Manitou Galleries/Coeur d'Alene Art Auction's "March in Montana ~ Fine Art and Collectables Auction". Only time will tell whether these three auctions can co-exist successfully during this festive week of overlapping events.
