This week has been a little slow on the painting front, with more sad news from the ranch. Lulu the Cow Cat was tragically electrocuted after climbing a power pole near the metal shop. Kitties live a precarious life on the ranch, with all the different predators; coyotes, weasels, owls, etc., not to mention other barn cats (which are basically wild) their lives are often times cut short. No doubt she climbed the pole to protect herself. Lulu rode the night shift with me every calving season and thats how she got her name. This is one of my favorite paintings of her. She was such a cutie! Sweet dreams my Lulu.
