The Frog Hunter - sketch 6 x 6" graphite on paper
As the days get cooler, its been nice to sit by the fire in our old house and doodle little drawings in my sketch book. If you've ever wondered how I come up with some of the characters for my paintings, this is how. This gives me a reference and something to look at later on when I move to the canvas, not to mention its extremely meditative. I think what I like most about drawing, is there is no pressure to create anything lasting. If I don't like it, I use it to build the next days fire. As artists, I think we all need to draw more.
