I created this painting for the up coming
Out West Art Show, which is coming up during Russell Week here in Great Falls. The subject is one I've wanted to do for a long time, and features cows on the Cobb Ranch just west of Augusta, MT, and the Rocky Mountain Front. This is Haystack Butte, a prominent feature and landmark for safe passage into the mountains, and the
Bob Marshall Wilderness.
UPDATE: This painting sold the day I posted it here, and the collector was generous in letting me hang it during the show. It received a lot of compliments from locals who are familiar with the landscape featured in this painting.
