"G for Geranium"

6 x 8" oil/canvas panel
SOLD

Now where was I?
Oh, right! Back to that alphabet series!

So, I'm finally back up and running. Well sort of. I still have lots of things to tweak and I need to find where I put all my back up disks, etc. Mac's new OS is making me relearn a few things, which is just enough to slow me down and cause a few episodes of you know, "cussing!"
Bill is still not being very supportive. I guess he's waiting till I'm a bit more settled. Coward.
At least I can photograph my work now and get it online. My website needs some work too, but that's next weeks project. Hopefully I'll have things ironed out by the end of the week, enough to get some auction things up? Lets keep our fingers crossed. Anyway, thanks everyone, for your patience through all this. I'm sure in the end, this will all make life easier...hmm...?

A Beautiful Diversion...

"White Rose - Pink Carnation"
10 x 8  oil/canvas
sold

So my large painting "A Soft Place to Land" is giving me fits.  Lets face it, some paintings fall off the brush, while others need to be wrestled to the ground.  So as a diversion, while I work out some issues, here is a painting I did a few years back.  One of my rare floral pieces.

"Aspen Leaves - Study in Oil"

6 x 8" oil/canvas panel

--------
Heres another try at those aspen leaves, a bit condensed and this time in oil.  I wanted to see if I could capture those same subtle grays, so effortless in watercolor.  NOT an easy thing to do, but I think I'm close.  I mentioned this the other day in Carol Marine's blog, on how important it is for an artist to play around with their palette.  Specifically by creating color charts.  I know!  That sounds suspiciously like WORK!!  But it does help you befriend your mud and turn it into something beautiful!
